Privacy Policy
Last updated 25 August 2026 · Applies to the Sevi mobile app on Android and iOS
This policy explains what Sevi collects, why, and who else sees it. It is written to be read rather than to be defensible, and it describes what the app actually does.
Sevi is operated by SevichaApps, Flat No 302, Meghana Blooms, Simhapuri Colony, Bowrampet, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Hyderabad 500043, Telangana, India. For anything in this policy, write to [email protected].
What we hold
Your account. If you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your email address, display name and a user id. You can use much of the app without an account; credits, saved trips in the cloud and shared trips need one, because an anonymous account cannot be recovered on a new phone.
Your trips and expenses. Itineraries you generate, edits you make, expense groups you create or join, and who owes what. Trips you share are readable by the people you share them with. This is stored in Google Cloud Firestore under your account.
Your credit balance. A ledger of credits earned and spent, held on our server so it survives reinstalling the app.
A notification token. If you allow notifications, a device token so we can tell you when a travel companion changes a shared plan or an expense needs your approval. Signing out deletes it.
Usage measurement. Which screens are opened and which features are used, through Google Analytics for Firebase, so we can tell what is worth building. It is not tied to your name.
Location stays on your phone
If you allow it, Sevi reads your approximate location to name the city for weather and to find places near you. We do not store your location on our servers. The morning weather notification carries no position: it is a nudge, and the forecast is fetched on your device when you open it.
We ask for approximate location rather than precise. You can refuse, and everything except local weather and nearby places carries on working.
How itineraries are made
When you generate a trip or send a message to the assistant, what you typed — the destination, dates, party size, interests and your question — is sent through our server to Google's Gemini model, which writes the reply. We pass it on; we do not sell it, and it is not used to identify you.
Place searches go through our server to Google Places, and weather to OpenWeather. Routing them through our server means the app never carries the API keys, and those services see our request rather than your device.
Advertising
The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. Whether they are personalised depends on your answer to a consent question:
- In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland you are asked through Google's consent form before any ad is requested.
- On iPhone you are asked by Apple's tracking prompt. Decline and the app works exactly the same, with less relevant ads.
You can change either answer later — the consent option in Settings where it applies, or iOS Settings → Privacy → Tracking. A premium subscription removes ads entirely.
Payments
Subscriptions and credit packs are handled by Google Play and the Apple App Store. We never see your card. We receive confirmation that a purchase happened so we can add what you bought to your account.
Who else is involved
Google (Firebase authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Analytics, AdMob, Gemini, Places, Play Billing), Apple (sign-in, App Store payments, tracking permission) and OpenWeather. Each receives only what it needs to do its part.
Keeping and deleting
We keep your trips and account for as long as you have an account. Ask us to delete it and we will remove your account, your trips, your expense records and your credit balance, and confirm when it is done. Trips you shared with other people stay with them, since they are theirs too.
To delete your account, write to [email protected] from the address you signed in with.
If you are in the United States or Canada
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are used in California law. You may ask what we hold, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it, and we will not treat you differently for asking. Write to the address at the bottom of this page.
Children
Sevi is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has given us information, tell us and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app rather than quietly editing this page. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
